What is brand photography?
Brand photography is a set of photographs that shows how a business works, what it makes, and the people and places behind it. Steven Lelham creates personal, considered images for Central Valley businesses, makers, professionals, and teams—photographs that can be used across a website, social channels, press materials, and other everyday communications.
Where does Steven photograph brands?
Steven is based in Turlock and works throughout the Central Valley, including Modesto and Sacramento. He also travels to the San Francisco Bay Area, Yosemite, and the California coast when the location is part of the story.
How do I plan a brand photography project?
Send a note about your business, the images you need, where they will be used, and the dates or locations you are considering through the contact page or steven@lelham.com. Steven typically replies within 24 hours and scopes the work to the project.

Images for the work behind your business

People often meet your business through a photograph before they meet you. That image might be on your homepage, beside a service, in a social post, or inside a story about how something is made.

I am Steven Lelham, a photographer based in Turlock, California. I make brand and commercial photographs with a personal, still-life sensibility. I look for the character in the people, spaces, tools, materials, and ordinary working moments that make your business distinct.

The result should be useful, but it should not feel generic.

What brand photography can include

People and process

Show the people who make the work happen: a founder at a desk, a team in conversation, a craftsperson in the middle of a process, or a professional working with a client. The photographs can be directed when needed and observational when the work is already moving.

Products, spaces, and details

Objects carry information. A product on a work surface, the texture of a material, a storefront before opening, or the layout of a studio can help someone understand your business before they read a paragraph about it.

I approach those details with the same care I bring to a still life, while keeping them connected to the larger story of your work.

Portraits for a business

A strong portrait does not have to be overly formal. We can make images of you or your team that feel professional and clear while still showing some of the person behind the role.

The setting can be your workplace, a location tied to the business, or another place that supports the way you want to be seen.

Ongoing visual needs

Some businesses need one focused session. Others need a group of images that can be used over time. We can plan around a launch, a new space, a seasonal update, a service, or the everyday visual library your communications need.

A process built around your actual work

1. Clarify the story

We begin with what you need the photographs to do. Tell me about your business, audience, current gaps in your image library, and the places the photographs will appear.

2. Build a practical shot list

We can identify the people, spaces, products, details, and working moments worth photographing. A clear plan helps us use the time well without trying to make every frame look prearranged.

3. Photograph the real setting

I work with the light, materials, and rhythm of your environment. If a little direction helps, I will give it. If the strongest photograph is already happening, I will pay attention and let it happen.

4. Shape coverage to the project

Brand photography is scoped to the day, the locations, the number of people and subjects, and the intended use. You do not need a finished brief to start the conversation.

Central Valley and California coverage

I am based in Turlock and available for projects in Modesto, Sacramento, and throughout the Central Valley. I also travel to the San Francisco Bay Area, Yosemite, and the California coast.

Existing work includes SF City Hall, Yosemite, Half Moon Bay, and Greens on 10th in Modesto. Those places reflect the range of settings I can work in, from civic and event spaces to landscapes and local businesses.

Brand, commercial, and event photography

Brand photography can overlap with commercial assignments, professional portraits, and events. If you need images of a launch, gathering, workplace, service, or team, share the full picture when you inquire. We can decide together what kind of coverage fits.

The goal is not to make your business look like someone else's. It is to make a useful, honest set of photographs that belongs to you.
